Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free via slopes. All slopes are generally under 5%.
There are also 5 steps leading down from Scudder Plaza to Shapiro Walk on the right hand side of the building. - The Julis Romo Rabinowitz building has 5 entrances, 3 of which provide step-free level access.
- The most accessible entrance is located at the front of the building, off Washington Road.
There are 7 steps in front of the entrance, but it can also be accessed via a sidewalk leading off Shapiro Walk, in the front right hand corner of the building, which has a very slight gradient. This entrance has automatic doors and gives access to Level 1. - There are also entrances either side of the accessible entrance, which are also accessed by the same level approach or steps.
They have manual doors and also give access to Level 1.
On the right hand side of the building, off William Street, there is an entrance that has level access and a manual door, but gives access to the landing between Levels A and 1 on Stairway 2.
On the left hand side of the building, off Shapiro Walk, there is an entrance accessed by 6 steps with handrails both sides. This has a manual door and gives access to the landing between Levels A and 1 on Stairway 7.
Getting Around
- There is step-free access throughout the building.
There are some side corridors on Levels 1 and 2 where the walkway narrows to 3ft 1in (95cm) wide. - There are 2 ramps towards the rear of the building, on the left and right hand sides on Levels A (5.1% on the right side, and 5.3% on the left) and 2 (8% on the right side, and 9.2% on the left).
- There are 2 ramps towards the rear of the building, on the left and right hand sides on Levels A and 2.
- There is a ramp in the rear right hand corner on Level 2 leading down to the Kimberley K. Querry Classroom.
- There is a ramp in the rear right hand corner on Level 2 leading down to the Kimberley K. Querry Classroom, with a gradient of 10%.
- On Level 3 there are ramps in the front left (11% gradient) and right (9% gradient) corners leading down to the Bendheim Center for Finance and the Department of Economics. Both ramps have a resting area.

- Floor surfaces along the circulation routes are mainly stone tiles, with some areas having carpet, laminate and wood surfaces, some of which have a shiny finish.
