About

Getting Inside

  • There are uneven slopes on approach to the building.
  • Access into the building is via slopes leading to entrances.
  • There are 6 entrances.
  • SH-1 is located towards the north of the building and consists of two sets of double doors. Each set of double doors has 1 door that can be opened by push plate. There is a slope on approach with a gradient of less then 5%.
  • SH-2 is located towards the East of the building and consists of two sets of double doors. Each set of double doors has one door that can be opened by push plate, with a slope on approach with a gradient of less then 5%.
  • SH-3 is located towards the west of the building and consists of two sets of double doors. Each set of double doors has one door that can be opened by push plate. There are 19 steps in front of the entrances and you access the building on the central stairway midway between floors 0 and 1.
  • SH-4 is located towards the west of the building and consists of two sets of double doors. Each set of double doors has one door that can be opened by push plate, with a slope on approach with a gradient of less then 5%.
  • Sh-5 is located towards the west of the building and consists of two sets of double doors. Each set of double doors has one door that can be opened by push plate, with a slope on approach with a gradient of approximately 3.5%.
  • SH-6 is located towards the north of the building and consists of two sets of double doors. Each set of double doors has one door that can be opened by push plate, with a slope on approach with a gradient less then 5%.
  • The entrances are signed as SH-1 , SH-2, SH-3, SH-4, SH-5 and SH-6.
  • Entrances SH-1, SH-2, SH-4, SH-5 and SH-6 enter the building on floor 1.
    Entrance SH-3 enters the building on the stairway between floors 0 and 1.

Getting Around

  • It is possible to bypass all steps once inside the building.
  • On floor 1 between the areas located towards the west of the building and the center of the building there are 2 alternative ramps. One has a gradient of 8.2% with handrails on either side located towards the north of the building and one has a gradient of 5% located towards the south of the building.
  • Both ramps bypass sets of five 15cm steps with handrails on both sides.
  • On floor 1 between the areas located towards the center of the building and the east of the building there are 2 ramps with a gradient of 8.3% with handrails on either side located towards the north and south of the building.
    On floor 1 there is also a set of 5 steps with a height of 16cm and handrails on either side between the central and the eastern parts of the building which are bypassed by the aforementioned ramps.
  • The majority of the floor surfaces in the building are hard and smooth with a shiny finish.
    Some areas of the building have patterned carpet.
  • There are resting areas in the circulation and lobby areas of the building with a mixture of seating available.
