Getting Inside

  • The approach to the building is step-free, via slopes with varying degrees of gradient.
  • There is step-free level access to all bedrooms on the first through fourth floors, via elevator, and to the elevator, restrooms and stairways on the lower level, when entering via the main entrance - DW-1.
    There is step-free access, via ramp, to the laundry room, kitchen and multipurpose lounge on the lower level, when entering via the main entrance - DW-1.
  • Danawell Hall has 2 entrances.
    The main entrance - DW-1 is located at the front of the building and provides step-free level access to the lower level of the building, via 2 sets of double, automatic doors (with 1 leaf locked). From here there is step-free level access to all other floors, via the elevator.
  • The entrances are signed as DW-1, DW-2, and Exit Only doors DW-3, DW-4 and DW-5.
  • Entrance DW-2 is in the same location, leading out to/in from the outdoor seating area at the rear of the building.
    There is no pedestrian access to this area from outside of the building, except from the Crum Woods Trails.
    DW-2 provides step-free level access to the multipurpose lounge on the lower level, via single, manual doors.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free level access from the main entrance - DW-1 to all bedrooms, via elevator.
    There is step-free level access from the main entrance - DW-1 to the elevator, stairways and restrooms on the lower level.
    There is step-free access via ramp from the main entrance - DW-1 to the laundry room, kitchen and multipurpose lounge on the lower level.
  • On the lower level, there are 5 steps, bypassed by a ramp with a grade of 8.7%, to access 023 multipurpose lounge.
    Halfway down this ramp is 024B laundry room, and the bottom of this ramp is 025 kitchen.

Entrance (Main Entrance - DW-1)
