About

  • The property has its own parking facilities.

  • This residential college is made up of 7 buildings.
  • The Old Graduate College is situated around 2 courtyards.
    The main residential hall has 5 levels which are signed as B,1, 2, 3 and 4.
    The other residential outbuildings in the rear quadrant have a differing number of levels, and they have no basement level.
    There are 21 stairways and no elevators.
  • There is access internally to the Proctor Dining Hall within Proctor Hall.

Getting Inside

  • The approach to the building is step-free and level.
  • The Old Graduate College has 22 entrances.
    There are 20 stepped entrances and 1 step-free entrance which has ramped access into the building (Entry 12).
    All entrances have manual doors and each entrance door gives access to a stairway to the individual accommodation rooms.
  • The entrances are signed as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 11A, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21.
  • There is stepped access around the courtyard to access the rear quadrant from the front quadrant.

Getting Around

  • There is step-free access throughout the majority of level 1 including access to the restroom with adaptations, from the accessible entrance.
    Access to level B and levels 2, 3 and 4 is via stairways only.
  • There is stepped access to the Procter Dining Hall, however this can be overcome with a platform lift.
  • There is stepped access to the Breakfast Room and Coffee House on level 1.
  • There are many stepped level changes and one ramped level change throughout the basement level of the building.
  • Floor surfaces along all circulation routes are hard and smooth with wooden, concrete, stone, tile and carpeted areas throughout. Some flooring has a shiny finish.
  • There are resting areas on level 1 in the main lobby area with a mixture of seating.
  • There is a map by Entry 15 and there is some wayfinding signage on the basement level.
  • There are communal facilities on level B and 1 of the main residential hall, but levels 2 and above are dormitories only.
    The front quadrant buildings are connected via level B.
