Access To
- The rear of the room is accessed on level L of the Friend Center.
The front of the room is accessed on level LL of the Friend Center, to the left as you exit the elevator and at the very end of the corridor going up the ramp which has a gradient of 7.6%. - View information on Friend Center (opens new tab) .
- The most accessible route has step-free level access.
- There is step-free level access to enter.
- There is Braille, tactile and written text signage on or near the door.
- The door to enter opens outwards and has a high color contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The door requires effort to open.
- The width of the door opening is 2ft 9in (83cm).
- Both the entrances on level L and level LL have a manual second door that also opens towards you with a width of 2ft 9in (83cm) that maybe difficult to open.
Room
- There is step-free level access in this area.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn (5ft x 5ft - 152.5cm x 152.5cm).
- There are designated spaces for wheelchair users.
- The designated spaces for wheelchair users are located at the rear and the front of the room.
- There is step-free level access to the designated seating.
- A companion can sit beside the designated spaces.
- Some flooring is shiny.
- There are chairs without armrests, fixed chairs with armrests, tables and fixed desks in this area.
- There is tiered seating with a central handrail.
- There is a clearly signed fixed assistive listening system.
- The assistive listening system was tested, however it was not working at the time of the survey.
- There is step-free level access via lift to the speaker's area.
- The height of the speaker's desk is 2ft 3in (69cm).
- The height of the lectern is 3ft 7in (110cm).
- Lighting levels are bright.
