Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free via a slope.
- There are 4 entrances into the building and the most accessible is via the ramped basement entrance (8% gradient) at the rear of the building which is closest to the parking lot (accessible entrance).
- The accessible entrance gives direct access to the basement floor of the Campus Club and then through to the elevator and stairway.
- At the front of the building there are 2 entrances. 1 entrance is via a ramp (11% gradient) and 1 entrance is via steps.
To the rear of the building there is 1 stepped entrance and 1 entrance is via a ramp (accessible entrance) with a gradient of 8%.
Getting Around
- It is possible to bypass the steps once inside the building but there are some short ramps and narrow doorways.
- On the first floor there are some short ramped level changes and narrow doorways between the sun room, the hallway, dining room and Prospect room.
Each ramp has a short slope. The gradient of the slope between the sun room and dining room is 20%. The gradient of the slope between the hallway and the right hand door into the sun room is 13%. The gradient of the slope between the hallway and the left hand door into the sun room is 3%. The gradient of the slope from the sun room into the prospect room is 9%. - There is internal access to the Coffee Club in the basement from the first floor via the elevator or via a stairway with 16 steps.
- Floor surfaces along the circulation routes are a mixture of hard, smooth and shiny surfaces.
There is also raised tiling in the first floor sun room and carpeted areas on the second floor. - Resting areas via the basement accessible entrance are in the Coffee Club.
There are resting areas on the first floor in the living room and dining room which have a mixture of seating. - There is door signage in circulation routes.
