Access To
- Room 222 is accessed on level 2 of the Bowen Hall, on the right side of the lobby that is to the right as you exit the elevator.
- View information on Bowen Hall (opens new tab) .
- The most accessible route has step-free level access and an elevator.
- There is step-free level access to enter.
- There is Braille, tactile and written text signage on or near the door.
- The door to enter opens outwards and has a high color contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The door requires effort to open.
- The width of the door opening is 3ft 3in (98cm).
- There is a second set of doors that opens outwards, may require effort to open and are 41in (104cm) wide.
There is also an alternative identical entrance available on the right side of the room.
Room
- There is step-free level access in this area.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn (5ft x 5ft - 152.5cm x 152.5cm).
- There are designated spaces for wheelchair users.
- The designated spaces for wheelchair users are located on the left side of the rear row and on the right side of the front row.
- There is step-free level access to the designated seating.
- A companion can sit beside the designated space.
- There are designated aisle seats.
- There are chairs with and without armrests, lecture chairs and tables in this area.
- There is tiered seating.
- There is a clearly signed fixed assistive listening system.
- The assistive listening system was tested, however it was not working at the time of the survey.
- There is step-free access via ramp to the speaker's area.
- The height of the lectern is 3ft 5in (103cm).
- Lighting levels are adjustable.
