Overview

Getting Around

  • There is step-free level access throughout walkways.
  • The following areas have stepped access: downstairs (canoes, kayaks, accessories, camping, and climbing gear).
  • Access throughout may include narrow corridors/walkways.
  • The flooring is a mixture of hard and carpeted.
  • The flooring is shiny in some areas.

  • There is no (or very little) background noise.
  • Seating available in the walkways includes: stools.
  • Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey.
  • The store's main aisles are 40 in. wide. Narrower areas between 23-27 in. wide are common between clothing racks and display tables
    There are always staff members available to provide assistance with reaching items.

Restrooms and Fitting Rooms Available

  • The venue does not have restrooms available for customers.
  • Fitting Rooms View
    • The venue has fitting rooms available for customers.
    • Standard fitting rooms are located on the right side of the store, between the apparel and the luggage.

Entrance

  • This entrance is located 109 N. College Avenue.

  • The fitting room surveyed is approximately 100 from the from the store entrance.
  • The most accessible route to the fitting room has step-free level access.
  • The room's signage is on the door.
  • The door signage is written text.
  • There is step-free level access to enter.
  • There is a curtain to enter the fitting room.
  • The curtain has a medium visual contrast.
  • The door has no lock.
  • The width of the opening is 3ft 1in (94cm).
  • The fitting room on the right is slightly larger at 37 in. wide.
    The fitting room on left side has an opening of 35 in.
  • The fitting room surveyed is the largest fitting room.
  • The dimensions of the room are 3ft 1in x 4ft 3in (94cm x 132cm) and it does not have a 5ft x 5ft (152.5cm x 152.5cm) turning space.

    • Some flooring is shiny.

    • The visual contrast between the walls and floor varies between low and high.

    • The store's main aisles are 40 in. wide. The area around the fly fishing display is too narrow in some places for a wheelchair to pass.
      The racks of camping supplies have sufficient aisle space for a wheelchair to pass between them.
      There are always staff members available to provide assistance with reaching items.

Footwear Section

Stairway (to paddle sports, climbing and camping section)

  • The stairway surveyed is located halfway through the store off the right main aisle.
  • The floors which are accessible by stairway are lower level where the paddle sports, climbing and camping section is located.
  • There are 13 steps between floors.
  • There are handrails on both sides.
  • The handrails are not easy to grip.
  • The height of the handrails is 2ft 10in (87cm).
  • The handrails cover the flight of stairs throughout its length.
  • The handrails do not extend horizontally beyond the first and last step.
  • The steps are clearly marked.
  • The height of the highest step is 10in (26cm).
  • The minimum tread depth is 11in (28cm).
