About

- The Bloomington Convention Center West building was originally constructed in 1923 as a Ford automobile assembly plant, and opened as the Monroe Convention Center in 1991. Today, the Bloomington Convention Center West building hosts conferences, conventions and meetings of all sizes in its 40,000 square foot space.
The venue is currently undergoing an extensive expansion and renovation, and the Bloomington Convention Center East building is scheduled to open in February 2027. - Facilities available in the venue include: First floor: 6 conference spaces of roughly 1,000 square feet, as well as a larger 2,664 square feet space and a small meeting room.
Second floor: 1,404 and 2,067 square foot conference spaces as well as the Great Room space of 9,398 square feet, which is detailed in this guide. - Free parking and WiFi are available.

Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free via a slope at the main entrance.

The convention center may also be accessed from inside the Courtyard Marriott hotel via double manual doors and the interior linking corridor. - The main entrance is signed as Monroe Convention Center.
- The most accessible entrance gives access to the entry corridor that leads to the Convention Center West building to the left and to the Courtyard Marriott Hotel ahead and to the right.
- To get to the convention center from the Courtyard Marriott hotel via the internal corridor:
- Exit the double manual doors from the hotel into the linking corridor
- approximately 20 feet ahead, turn left
- approximately 40 feet ahead, turn right
- proceed straight ahead for 40 feet to the interior entrance to the convention center.

- There is one Men's and one Women's multi-stall restroom with an accessible stall on 1st floor. There is one additional Men's and one Women's multi-stall restroom with an accessible stall on the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor women's restroom is left hand transfer and the men's is right hand transfer.
